This is an e-mail I sent out to a lot of people I know. Just posting it up here too for show and tell.

I've been lamenting deeply over how hardheaded and downright snobby many liberals are when it comes to discussing political issues and solutions. Their answers generally seemed to be based in complete ignorance of the subject and fueled by the delusion of righteousness despite being clearly off base and unfair. This started with my aghast as to how people can be supporting someone like Barack Obama in the Presidential race. I'm referencing specifically his lack of content in his politics and the glaring fact that his greatest influences are people who are anti-American, hateful bigots, and in at least one case, an out and out convicted TERRORIST, not to mention his communist father. These facts (and they are facts - don't believe me? You don't know your candidate) made me lie awake in bed several times now wondering how people can still be OK with this guy.
I'm by no means a political fanatic or even affiliated with any particular political group. So don't take this as an endorsement for John McCain. He's just a different kind of stupid. I'm not advocating for the republicans here either with this article because I already know why the mental midgets of that end of the political spectrum are so obstinate to reason. That one was easy (fyi they are NOT conservatives). But the psychology of a liberal seemed just too dirty, selfish and arrogant. Yeah strong words but that's what I detect when I try to converse with liberals about 'the issues'. That's not even the worst part! When I found many people I know to be liberals I was just shocked. Yes, me, shocked. I'm not being sarcastic either. Many people I looked up to, and still do, turned out to be condescending and unwilling to listen to anything outside 'their own' liberal position when the topics came up.
I needed to understand why certain liberals think the way they do and why they are so hard to even discuss politics with on a civilized level. So, I googled 'psychology of liberalism' and got this article and a couple others. This one was by far the best even though it was clearly written by someone who considers themselves a republican.
I know I've been mud slinging pretty heavily lately on politics but it's for a good reason: there's nothing else to do now that all the good candidates are out of the race. All we're left with is two... 'somethings'... to 'vote' for and neither are appealing in any way, shape or form. If you get the idea in your head that I was talking about you in the above paragraphs, I wasn't. So, don't worry about it. But if you happen to keep finding similarities in your behavior or thought pattern with what is being described in this article, then I was probably talking about you. But remember, no one has the right to NOT be offended.

PS. If you do take offense to this article, that truly is your own problem and I suggest that you look deep within yourself and try to correct this fault. It is a fault and once again I must point out that I am NOT in any way being sarcastic or facetious. Just remember the part where the author differentiates between hardcore liberals and people who tend to agree with liberals on certain issues. Also, the article is long, so if you are like me then I suggest you save it for when you have the strength and mental clarity to sit through a toughy.

I can't wait to see the
I can't wait to see the landslide McCain loss, hopefully it will even be one for the record books.
Communist Father?
While I'm no great fan of Obama, a person's parent's political inclinations should have no bearing on whether you should vote for someone.
My politics are entirely different from most of the rest of my family's, and, judging by your post, many of your relatives don't share your political views.
The rest of your post is pretty much on-target.
some guy I know

And oh man did I get a response. Some of my extended family are very disappointed in me. LOL!!!
